The UCLA Substance Abuse Pharmacotherapy Unit (UCLA SARx) provides state of the art medical treatment for addiction using FDA approved anti-addiction medications as well as via clinical trials of new and experimental anti-addiction medications. UCLA SARx physicians and clinicians provide treatment for problems with the following substances: Methamphetamine- while no FDA approved medications for methamphetamine addiction are currently available, patients may be eligible to enroll in one of our clinical trials of experimental medications for methamphetamine addiction. Opioids (heroin and prescription opioids such as Vicodin® and Oxycontin®)- confidential, office-based, medical treatment for opioid addiction using Suboxone® (buprenorphine/naloxone), an FDA approved medication for opioid addiction, is available from UCLA SARx physicians at the UCLA Les Kelley Family Health Center in Santa Monica.
